History
AIFI was established in May 1986 to develop, coordinate and represent, at institutional level, the players active in the Italian private equity and venture capital markets.
In 2014, the Association extended its membership to private debt funds, at the same time changing its name to become the Italian Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt Association.
It represents funds and companies operating with risk capital, investing in companies by taking, managing and disposing of investments mainly in unlisted companies. The ultimate aim of these investments is to implement a development plan for the investee companies.
