| Institutional
activities |
 |
|
The Association has an active role in the legislative
and institutional process by lobbing with the appropriate
authorities in order to create a favorable environment
for private equity and venture capital investment activity.
|
| Symposia and business
seminars |
 |
Once a year the Association attracts some
of the most important Italian and foreign players in a
symposium opened to the AIFI members and all interested
managers in the industry. The symposium focuses on current
relevant venture industry issues and analyzes. AIFI organizes
single theme business seminars on selected items for its
members. These seminars are presented by leading experts
and allow detailed debates between professionals. Every
two years, a meeting with international investors is organized
for AIFI members. During this meetings, it is given a
general view on the Italian private equity and venture
capital industry, with important representatives from
the Government and the Institutions.
|
| Research and publishing
activity |
 |
The Association publishes periodically
a biannual report which provides an updated overview on
the private equity and venture capital activity in Italy
and abroad, and a working paper series concerning specific
industry related issues. Each year AIFI collects statistical
data on the sector activity in Italy, which are published
both on the EVCA Yearbook and the AIFI Yearbook.
|
| Educational
Programs |
 |
|
The educational program addressed to industry professionals
was launched by AIFI Ricerca & Formazione. Once a year
the Association organizes a five days course for institutional
investors; course teachers are recruited from senior
levels of the venture capital firms and the academic
world. The program covers a wide range of subjects including
a general and institutional overview of the market as
well as a case history of the investment activity in
Italy. Case studies are presented during the final session
to enrich the practical understanding of the market.
|
| Research
activity |
 |
Besides the institutional research activity,
which is the core of our publications and reports, AIFI
R&F does private research on the most recent trends in
the venture capital industry and the Italian entrepreneurial
scenario. Important public and private entities have already
used our services.
|
| Committees |
 |
|
In order to create working groups with associate members,
several committees have been established (i.e.: Tax & Legal, Mid Market, Buy Out, Territorial Development and Infrastructures, Institutional Investors and Venture Capital).
|
| Agreements
and co-operation |
 |
On the basis of a common view on many
subjects, AIFI has negotiated agreements with other Italian
associations such as ABI, Assonime, Assosim, Confindustria,
as well as EVCA, the European Private Equity and Venture
Capital Association. Relationship with other venture capital
associations, research centers and specialised magazines
are more and more stimulated and consolidated.
